Let's Honour the language and its Usage!
RIP
Oh really! Does RIP really mean 'Rest in peace?'
When I heard this acronymn used for the deceased for the first time, I thought there can't be anything worse than this. First we are made to learn the meaning of rip as 'to pull apart' or 'tear violently or quickly'!
And now we are using the same words to pass condolences to the departed souls! Oh, surely we don't want to rip them apart!
Do we not have enough time to write a couple of beautiful words 'rest' and 'peace?'
What kind of world are we are living in?
What should we learn in a language and what should we unlearn?
Why can't we cut down our long phone calls or our social media time and simply exercise our fingers a bit more and
...write right for once, ...Rest in Peace!

Thanks.It was something that reminded me every time I came across the word, how we were belittling someone's passing away hence thought of putting into words.
DeleteWords such as RIP do not give respect to our loved ones. We should talk about them eloquently and give them respect by talking about how they inspired or influenced us in our lives. We have beautiful words to describe our loved ones. It is their last rites before we never see them again. So we should cherish their life moment by honouring them with love and care and devotion when they go away from us.

DeleteThe sad aspect is that they have left us and will never return. So the lesson from this is let us respect and love all people in our relationships as we never know when one of us will pass away. Rest in peace is not enough to describe or honour our loved ones. Speak eloquently and be peaceful in all our relations and speak of each other with love and care when we are living or when we pass away.
